Pyramid Schools Trust Merges Core Comms Systems

The Problem
The Trust wanted to modernise its communication systems, ensuring seamless connectivity between schools while enhancing safeguarding and operational efficiency.
They faced several communication challenges:
- The existing telephony systems were outdated and inconsistent across the schools.
- There was a need for a unified communication solution to improve collaboration between staff and students across multiple sites.
- Ensuring safeguarding compliance and efficient emergency response was a priority.
- The transition to a new system needed to be seamless, requiring close coordination with the Trust’s IT provider.
- Cost-effectiveness was a key consideration while enhancing functionality.

Our Solution
To address these challenges, IBT implemented a 3CX phone system tailored to the Trust’s specific needs. The solution included:
- A unified communication system across all schools, streamlining internal and external communications.
- The introduction of a dedicated safeguarding line to enhance student safety.
- Beta testing a lockdown procedure to improve emergency response measures.
- Integration with the Trust’s IT partner for a seamless transition and implementation.
- A cost-saving structure that provided advanced telephony features while reducing overall telecom expenses.
The Outcome
The project began with a phased rollout at one school within the Pyramid Schools Trust and, following its success, was expanded to four additional schools. The implementation led to improved communication across staff, students, and administration, enhanced safeguarding through a dedicated emergency line and lock down procedure testing, and substantial cost savings that enabled the Trust to redirect funds to other educational priorities. With a dedicated IBT
engineer overseeing the project, the rollout was smooth and hands-on.
The Trust is highly satisfied with the outcome and intends to extend the solution across their other schools soon.
